Oral presentations

  • PCs and laptops in the session rooms use Microsoft Windows. Your slides can be presented eighter with Microsoft Powerpoint 2010 or Adobe Acrobat Reader. Please make sure that you embed your fonts in both PDF and PPTX files.
  • Please upload your presentation files early and use breaks or the time in the moring before the session begins (or sunday afternoon). Please ask at the registration if the session room is closed. Latest possibilty to upload your talk is 15 minutes before start of the respective session. Please label your file with your paper-ID and your last name.
  • Please introduce yourself to the chair of your session at least 10 minutes before the session starts.
  • In single cases, it may also be possible to use an own laptop, e.g. with MAC-OS. In such cases it is mendatory, that you inform the conference organizing team in advance of the conference latest on 23.3.2018. There may be some VGA and HDMI connections and a limited number of further adapters. As such a change requires additional time, presentation time will be shortened by about 2-3 minutes. A double projection is not possible.
  • All oral presentations should be given in the language of the abstract. Speakers with German abstracts who present in sessions with invited speakers are requested to speak English.
  • The presentation time is 15 minutes plus 5 minutes for discussion. Invited talks have 40 minutes already including discussion.

  • The poster session is held in Building 23, in the foyer in front of lecture hall 23-4.
  • Posters should be printed out and in portrait format in DIN A0 (width: 84 cm, height: 118 cm).
  • Please mount your poster on the poster wall that is marked with your poster-abstract. Mounting material will be made available for you.
  • It is expected that you mount your poster as early as possible starting from sunday afternoon. It is also expected that you are at your poster during the poster session on Tuesday in order to answer potential questions.

Session Chairs Guidelines

  • Please arrive in the session room at least 10 minutes in advance of the session start and get familiar with the technical equipment.
  • Introduce yourself to the speakers.
  • Check if all required files are on the laptop prior to the start of the session and encourage presenters to upload them otherwise.
  • Monitor presentation time. In order for all presenters to have equal time, it is imperative that you enforce a time limit of 20 minutes each (including discussion) for contributed talks. We suggest that you make it very clear to each presenter before the session begins that you will adhere strictly to the ‘20 minutes each’ rule and will interrupt should they exceed their limit.
  • Please introduce yourself shortly at the beginning of the session, introduce each speaker before her/his talk and ask discussants to give their names.
